memory guard: the feed's age before any height compare (a feed older than three minutes is a FEED FAULT, never a sync count), two consecutive passes before a unit counts, a datadir older than 30 minutes is a resume and is never stopped (11:32 UK, 9 Oct: the frozen feed read three synced nodes as three fresh syncs and the seed and hand were stopped by their units); the box's backward-read and unit-age checks carried onto master; the fault line in docs/ops.
